About Us

Since 1977 the society has set out to be open and inclusive. The membership is comprised of artists, crafts people, collectors and friends of the society who are primarily based throughout Ireland.

A voluntary non-profit organization, we rely on our membership fees and grants to enable us to provide yearly activities.

Currently, Ceramics Ireland hosts workshops, professional practice days and 3 exhibitions per annum. The Ceramics Ireland International Festival is a biennial event held in Kilkenny and on alternate years the society travels to the International Ceramics Festival, Wales.

The ‘Ceramics Ireland’ magazine is produced biannually and distributed throughout Ireland, with an increasing international profile.

Our Website www.ceramicsireland.org provides a useful resource and image bank of our members work. It also promotes festivals, events, exhibitions, residencies and international opportunities.

We continually take opportunities to promote Irish ceramics and it's members, both nationally and internationally, enabling us to raise the profile of ceramics as a collectable art form. We recognise the skills and craftsmanship of artists working in clay and the importance of ceramics in contemporary art practice today.
