transFORM presents the work of 32 makers of and from Ireland celebrating creativity, design and skill in clay. The landmark exhibition is an important event in the history of Ceramics Ireland and represents our contribution to the Crafts Council of Ireland’s, 2011 Year of Craft. The selected gathering of makers brings together a diverse range of ceramic practice, addressing aspects of functionality, decorative and sculptural form, some passing social and political commentary. transFORM features such internationally renowned makers such as Deirdre McLoughlin, Neil Read, Frances Lambe, Jack Doherty and Sara Flynn. The exhibition gives an overview of contemporary practice in Ireland that sits comfortably on an international stage. Many individual ceramic artists now feature in private and public collections worldwide, recognition for the calibre of contemporary practice here.
